If your Christmas decorations involve lights and a racecar, you might be a Redneck!  Michael's new car adorns the front yard in December 2003.

The neighbors were delighted.
Innocence lost.  Michael hangs out at the banquet with the Boneman and Randy Blakeslee.

Michael ended up 5'th in FASCAR points for 2003.  Not bad for starting racing in August!


Its on!  Michael tangles with Josh Hermann on the outside, and Pedie Allison in the 92.

3 Wide again!  Once more Pedie Allison looks low as Sean Bass runs in the third lane.

A breakthrough win for Michael; this was his first in a mini stock.  It was the result of a wild, race-long battle with two other cars.

Hialeah Speedway ended its 51 year run in August of 2005.  The last night for the track was the first time that the Backyard Racing team visited this speedway.  Here Michael is shown running in the final mini stock feature, a 51 lapper on a long, hot night.

Earlier in the afternoon, a storm blew through the pits and carried an "Easy-Up" across the pits, and dropped it on their truck, but that is another story!
Michael was locked in a dual with 2005 class champion Sean Bass on October 14, 2005
The next week, Michael led Sean across the stripe to win his second feature of the year.

Donut time!  Michael celebrates on the way to victory lane!

Victory #3!  Michael finished the year with 2 wins in 3 weeks.  On this night, he took the lead in the last corner of the last lap.

Michael makes himself right at home in mini stocks after years of racing in other classes.  He is shown running in tight formation with Scott Reeves, Sean Bass, R.J. Arnone and Bobby Orr.
